CHIPPING: Garden party is a real team effort

Garden PARTY - After all-day rain on Saturday parishioners were cblessed with good weather for St Bartholomew’s Church garden party held at the vicarage in Chipping, raising £1,240 for church funds.

At the enjoyable afternoon there were stalls selling cakes, plants and produce, toys and books, bric-a-brac, good-as-new plus opportunities to win prizes on the raffle, tombola, tin can game and pull the rope.

Excellent entertainment provided by organist Liz Harrison lifted everyone’s spirits and there was a selection of refreshments, including Greenfields cheese, ice-cream and home-made cakes, scones and teas. Thanks go to everyone who helped set up, provided items for sale, bakers and stallholders, Cynthia and her catering team, Margaret Smith for freezer loan and ice-cream cones and all who made donations. Also grateful thanks to the “professionals” who provided goods and services on the day, Liz Harrison, Grace, Peter and Stephen Procter, of Greenfields Dairy and Paul and Laura Hunt, of Brabins shop.
