CHILDREN across Lancashire are being given the chance to name their very own gritting wagon.
Lancashire County Council’s competition for five to 10-year-olds will see the winner’s chosen name displayed in big letters above the cab. Three vehicles will be named with a winner chosen from each of the county’s highways areas, north, south and east.
The winner’s school class will also be offered the chance to visit their local highways depot to see the newly-named wagon unveiled, meet the drivers and see the forecasting equipment and huge mounds of salt which make the whole operation work.
Children can enter the competition and see all sorts about plans to keep Lancashire moving this winter online at www.lancashire.gov.uk/winter
The closing date for entries is December 20th, with the winners to be announced on January 16th.
