Staff and customers at the Horseshoe Inn at Bawdlands, Clitheroe, have raised £2,000 for the Rosemere Burnley Chemotherapy Unit Appeal.

Landlord and landlady Gary and Lisa Madden and their patrons raised the cash over the past year and have presented it to Rosemere’s East Lancs fund-raising co-ordinator Dan Hill.

The Rosemere Burnley Chemotherapy Unit Appeal is aiming to raise £100,000 towards a new, world class chemotherapy unit at Burnley General Hospital.

The money was made through raffles with prizes donated by local businesses, a Valentine’s disco, 24 hour darts marathon and quiz nights, which had Lisa, Gary and regulars Chris Flynn and Dave Briggs the main organisers.

The Inn’s support of Rosemere is a tribute to a fondly remembered regular who died of cancer a year ago.

Rosemere Cancer Foundation works throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria to bring world class cancer treatments and services to local cancer patients.
