Meeting over Catholic school bus fare price hike

A meeting will be staged next Wednesday in Clitheroe to discuss the bus fare price hike faced by Catholic pupils.

It will be held at The Parish Centre next to St Michael and St John’s RC Church on Wednesday. May 21st. at 7-30pm.

Parents of children who attend St Augustine’s RC High School, Billington, are angry they have to pay for their children’s transport as it is not their nearest school.

Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans has raised the matter in Parliament and called Lancashire County Council’s policy “religious discrimination.”
