Clitheroe-based catering wholesaler Total Foodservice has been honoured for its rigorous approach to health and safety at the International Safety Awards 2013.
The firm took home the prestigious company award – a recognition of its proven commitment to workplace health and safety – but Total Foodservice’s health and safety representative Radoslaw Kozlowski was also awarded the individual title of International Health and Safety Champion.
Radoslaw was nominated by Peter Kozlowski, operations manager for the Clitheroe site, and was shortlisted to the final five out of 500 nominations. Attending the gala awards dinner along with his colleagues at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, Radoslaw was announced as the winner. He has succeeded in developing a nearly hazard-free working environment by focusing on a number of key safety features.
On receiving his award, Radoslaw said: “I couldn’t have done this without the absolute support of my colleagues. My motto is ‘See it, Own it, Do something about it’ – SOD for short and all my colleagues are ‘sodding it’ now, but there’s always room for improvement!”
Total Foodservice’s managing director, Simon Howarth, said: “It’s a truly remarkable achievement and I’d like to thank the whole team, including Radoslaw, for their efforts.”
