Shoppers in Clitheroe’s “hidden gem” Swan Court have been amazed to see a big portrait of The Queen, made entirely from jelly beans.

Clitheroe Mayor Coun Kevin Horkin unveiled the four-foot picture at Candycopia, a traditional and international sweet shop where owner Robert Taylor has it on loan for two weeks from The Jelly Belly sweet company. In future Robert hopes to display other jelly bean pictures by artist Roger Rocha, which include William and Kate, Shrek, The Beatles, Marilyn Monroe and Paul O’Grady. Robert, who lives at Padiham, donated £40 from the unveiling event to Cancer Research UK in memory of his mother Sue Taylor, who died a year ago.
