Grandmother Patricia Nuttall believes in spending her money in Clitheroe, and it’s won her £50 worth of shopping vouchers.

Mrs Nuttall, who used to work at George Sheldon’s chemist’s, latterly Heyes, in Moor Lane, is the winner of this month’s £50 prizein the Shop Clitheroe loyalty scheme run by Clitheroe Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

It’s a fitting reward for a loyal Clitheronian who still lives in the house where she was brought up.

She said: “As a local person born, raised and having worked all my life in my home town I feel a strong bond with the local businesses and I believe they are what makes Clitheroe special. Not just the shops, but all the tradesman and other businesses as well.

“We are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful area with so many independent traders and businesses that can satisfy all our household requirements.”

George Alpe from Alpes Butcher’s, Shawbridge St, said: “Since we joined the Shop Clitheroe scheme we have seen the concept grow to include over 80 businesses, and our customers love their cards. With no cost to the customer and a chance to win £50 each month it’s no wonder we are busy stamping cards every day.

“For Alpe’s, as an independent business, it’s nice to be able to reward our customers with this loyalty card.”
