Jeremy Greenhalgh (25) has been appointed to the newly-created post of Market Manager at Clitheroe Auction Mart.

From a farming background, Jeremy has a degree in Business and Management from Lancaster University as well sales experience in the agricultural sector and with a high street retailer.

An upswing in livestock prices and a strong increase in business going through the popular Auction Mart have led to the creation of the additional management position. As well as senior management duties, Jeremy will also carry out some auctioneering and conduct farm visits. He has a particular interest in breeding Texel sheep and is a member of the breed society.

Clitheroe Auction Mart managing director, Robert Parker commented: “We have a strong commitment to encourage as many younger people as possible into what is an increasingly healthy agricultural sector. Jeremy has a real passion for farming and I am sure that he will be very popular with our customers.”
