Mum and businesswoman Stephanie Clarke has been shortlisted in the Mumpreneur 2014 Awards – an annual ceremony aimed at celebrating parents who juggle business with family life.

Stephanie, from Whalley, is the founder and co-owner of Purple Cupcakes which designs and distributes an Aladdin’s cave of cake making tools and sundries from their workshop in Barnoldswick.

The business was founded in 2010 when Stephanie and sister Fiona decided to pursue their dream of owning a cupcake creation business

“The business has gone from strength to strength since we made our first cakes”, said Stephanie.

“We realised that there were opportunities to develop interesting tools and techniques to create truly inspirational cake designs, and we now have a wonderful range of our own Impressit decorating tools together with everything that a professional or amateur cake maker could ever need.”

The sisters also have an impressive following on the social media site Facebook with an amazing 65,000 followers, with whom they share their ideas, and latest innovations.

“I’m thrilled that we have been shortlisted for an award, said Stephanie. “We’ve worked so hard, and to be in the finals for this award is amazing”.

Judging Stephanie’s entry will be a panel of top entrepreneurs but she’ll have to wait until November 8th, when the winners will be announced at The Mumpreneur Conference and Awards at the Heart of England Centre, Warwickshire.
