Championing the people and enterprises that help to make Ribble Valley such a great place to live, work and visit is the driving force behind a new awards initiative for 2014 – the Ribble Valley Business Awards – or “RVs”.

This first of what should become an annual and prestigious part of the local business calendar is being organised by the volunteer mentor team at Enterprising People in Ribble Valley (EPRV) – a project offering free, one-to-one mentoring support for local people and organisations with innovative ideas they want to make happen.

Bashall Barn near Waddington will be the venue for a glittering awards ceremony on Thursday, October 9th, and the initial award categories are set. Now the team is keen to hear from local organisations willing to sponsor and ensure the success of this exciting venture.

Daniel Williams, a member of the organising team, said: “As EPRV volunteer mentors, we meet some incredibly skilled, enthusiastic and inspiring people – who are working hard to make a success of their enterprising ideas.

“We are continually impressed by the diversity and depth of business talent Ribble Valley has to offer and wanted to find a way to celebrate this with the wider community.

“The awards will offer considerable publicity and brand exposure and competitive differentiation, not just for winning and shortlisted entrants but also for sponsoring organisations. And, from our perspective, sponsorship isn’t just about finding funding. Award category sponsors help us to keep the event independent by sitting on the judging panel and providing valuable external input.

“Some award categories already have sponsors signed-up, but there are still plenty of opportunities available. Without our sponsors, the RVs simply would not happen, so we’re extremely grateful for all the support we receive.”

Awards will be presented in the following categories: Rural Business, Community Business/Social Enterprise, Enterprising Town or Village Tourism Business, Creative Business, Independent Retail Business, Large Business, Small Business, Microbusiness, New Business and Made in Ribble Valley (best local product or service).

A range of sponsorship packages are available to suit differing budgets – all with prominent and high-value benefits.
