With cutbacks and crises, jobs lost or under threat seemingly at every turn, one Ribble Valley success story is bucking the trend.
The Red Pump Inn, at Bashall Eaves, has been recruiting extra staff to meet increased demand created by its growing reputation as a wonderful place to eat, drink and stay.
Having recently achieved its third year entry into the Michelin Guide as well as its fourth year listing with influential hotel critic Alastair Sawday’s “Special Places of Britain” guide, the Red Pump has seen an early boost to trading which has prompted an earlier than usual recruitment drive.
Red Pump proprietor Martina Myerscough commented: “We’re a small enthusiastic team of local lads and lasses who just love good food.
“Because of our continuing success, we have full and part-time vacancies to fill in the kitchen, housekeeping and for front-of-house waiting on staff.”
