Loyal customer Elizabeth Trevor-Jones had the honour of cutting the ribbon when the Tesco store at Clitheroe unveiled a new look.

Mrs Trevor-Jones has shopped at Tesco since it opened 24 years ago and was invited to be the VIP guest by store manager Dave Pollitt.

The store has undergone a rolling programme of improvements over seven weeks, and Mr Pollitt thanked customers for their patience during the work.

He said: “We’ve had a really positive response from colleagues and customers to the store, especially to some of our new-look areas and the new products we’ve introduced.

“The store is an important part of the local community in Clitheroe, so it was great to able to hand over the opening duties to Mrs Trevor - Jones.

“I’d like to thank her for opening the store and welcome everyone to the new Tesco Clitheroe store.”
