Nominations for the best local businesses have been coming in thick and fast.

Since nominations opened just under a fortnight ago for the Ribble Valley Business Awards , almost 50 businesses have been nominated for the scheme’s beacon award – the Superfast Lancashire Award for the most inspiring business.

For two other special awards, 23 businesses have been nominated for the Customer Friendly Award (sponsored by Clitheroe Chamber of Trade and Commerce), and 10 individuals for the Enterprising Person Award (sponsored by FS Accountants).

Organised by Enterprising People, this new event will see category finalists and winners celebrated at a glittering ceremony on October 9th at Bashall Barn near Waddington.

“The response to the Awards has been amazing,” said Rob Carder, volunteer mentor coordinator for Enterprising People,“and we expect many more nominations over the coming weeks.”

There are 14 awards overall, including Food Business (sponsored by DSM Chartered Accountants), Creative Business (sponsored by The Action House), Rural Business (sponsored by Ribble Valley Borough Council), Made in Ribble Valley (sponsored by Dugdale Nutrition) and the scheme’s beacon award – the Superfast Lancashire Award for the most inspiring business.

Anyone can nominate any local business for the Superfast Lancashire Awards by completing the simple online form at the dedicated awards website - www.ribblevalleybusinessawards.co.uk. Nominations will be announced on the dedicated Twitter and Facebook pages as they come in. Every nominated business will receive an entry form on which they can select the categories for which they wish to be considered. Nominations for these can only be made by members of the public on the same website.
