Pendleton Soup Kitchen

A group of friends held a soup kitchen in Pendleton to raise funds for the Solomon project, a charity working with Mary’s meals to feed schoolchildren in the slums of Eldoret, Kenya.

More than 60 friends and villagers supported the lunch, at which Gemma Vaughn and Steve Lancaster spoke of their experiences during a visit to the school in Kenya in September. Generous donations totalled more than £500, and everyone agreed the soup was delicious!

Susan Aylward provided soup too, but couldn’t join her team, pictured here, of Carole Brown, Jilly Farthing, Pam Lavery, Rose Lancaster and Janice Oxley.
