A Clitheroe businesswoman operating in the “man’s world” of car parts and accessories is at the top of her game.
Julie Watson, owner of Automotion, Clitheroe’s specialist car, cycle and leisure accessories store, has been appointed a Director on the National Executive Board of A1 Motor Stores Group – a buying group representing 250 independent retailers in the automotive supplies sector.
Commenting on her appointment, Julie said: “I’m thrilled to join the board and add my experience and enthusiasm to help the group develop for its members, and our customers. As independent retailers we’re in difficult economic times, but my business is growing, so I wanted to share my experience and challenge myself in a new role.”
Based in modern, spacious premises in Highfield Road, Automotion has been in business since 2002. Julie is currently undertaking a number of initiatives to expand the business, having been on the national business support programme the Growth Accelerator. “We are looking at new ideas to take our business forward. We will shortly be announcing a service and support scheme aimed at first time drivers and lady drivers and I’m excited about our future. We aim to exceed the expectations of our customers – and we do, as they come back time and again!”
