Clitheroe’s branch of The Original Factory Shop has, once again, delivered strong sales and profit growth, continuing the strong momentum of the first quarter.

For the first half to September 30th, like-for-like sales at the store were up 5.7%. During that period, the bes performing areas were Hardware and Electricals and Homeware, up 28.7% and 19.8% respectively, year-on-year.

A spokesperson for the store said: “We’re well aware of how challenging the economy has become, both for businesses and shoppers, so for us to keep performing like we’ve been since the start of the year, it’s nothing short of fantastic. It proves that with the right combination of quality products at factory shop prices and great customer service, you can still be a success on the high street.”

The Original Factory Shop as a whole had a strong start to the financial year. Like-for-like sales across the estate for the 26 weeks to September 30th were up 5.8%. Total sales growth was 13.6% and Profit Before Tax growth was 30%.

Angela Spindler, CEO of The Original Factory Shop, said: “More and more consumers are looking for low prices without wanting to compromise on the quality of the products they’re buying, which is exactly what we’reoffering in our stores and on our website. Our online offer has gone from strength to strength and our new website, launching this month, will help further support our online growth.

“That said, we know our customers still enjoy face-to-face interaction and the helpful service they receive at their friendly local store.”
