FOLLOWING substantial growth in sales, staff and clients during 2011, Whitewater has appointed Julian Coy as the new CEO.
Julian is a highly professional corporate financier with more than 15 years’ experience in M&A, Private Equity and Transaction Services, involved in excess of 75 transactions throughout his career.
As a proven and well networked business developer, Julian grew BDO Manchester into a major player in corporate finance, developing one of the strongest teams in mid-market deals. Following this, in 2005, he decided to practice what he preached and MBI invested in Promatic, the World leader in the field of clay pigeon traps. He quickly moved from Group Finance Director through to US CEO and was ultimately appointed Group CEO before leaving in 2009 after negotiating a highly successful sale to Private Equity in 2007. Since then, Julian has developed his own consultancy and corporate finance practice assisting banking clients with turnaround assignments and overseas businesses interested in UK and US expansion.
Carl Allen, Founder of Whitewater, said: “Growth over the last 12 months has been astonishing, but this was beginning to impact my deal origination capabilities. Following my recent successful business development visit to Australia I decided the firm now needed a CEO with a proven track record in managing the growth of a corporate finance business, releasing me to concentrate on developing the technology sector. From our very first meeting it was obvious Julian was the stand out candidate and he is already adding value to the firm.”
Chris Duckworth, Chairman of Whitewater, commented: “We are very pleased to be welcoming such a seasoned and professional individual to the Whitewater team. Julian’s role will be to further develop the team and strengthen its deal delivery capabilities. Not only does he bring an extensive corporate finance tool kit with him, he also has real experience of owning and running his own businesses outside the field of accountancy and professional services – something we pride ourselves on and consider ourselves unique in the marketplace.”
Julian Coy said: “It is refreshing to find an advisory firm who are genuinely different with deep sector knowledge and senior people with proven success in industry. To work alongside colleagues like the ex-Head of M&A Hewlett Packard and one of the UK leading authorities on Automotive Supply channels is amazing. I have never encountered a firm that has that mix of real world experience and M&A know-how. With clients like HIG Europe, Lonsdale Capital Partners and Australian-based Mobilarm we are demonstrating that the North West can star on a global stage. In 2012 we are expecting a major recruitment drive with a significantly larger team to handle the deal flow with possible new offices in London and Belfast.”
Whitewater is a boutique corporate finance advisory firm offering novel deal origination services and expertise from a network of associates with real business experience in a number of specialist sectors.
