An application for 18 houses on land off Longsight Road in Langho has been submitted to planning chiefs.
The outline planning application, which means for permission in principle, is for 18 large “executive” houses on land north of the railway line.
This application follows an earlier application for up to 132 houses which was refused by members of Ribble Valley Borough Council’s planning committee on November 13th last year.
The 5.4 hectare site adjoins a larger parcel of greenfield land which extends west to the boundary with Whitehalgh Lane. This wider site, totalling 25.97 hectares, is also in the same ownership. However, it is only the eastern most field which is subject of this planning application.
The developers state there is sufficient local demand for large executive housing which is at a density which is not incongruous with the surrounding area and that these plans can help to satisfy that demand.
