The Assheton Arms, at Downham, is a new entry in the latest edition of The Good Food Guide, due out on Monday.
Also in the Ribble Valley, the Freemasons at Wiswell has been placed in the guide’s top 50 North West eateries (at number 42), while Northcote, at Langho, is singled out as one of the longest serving entries, at 27 years.
Now owned by supermarket chain Waitrose and in its 63rd year of publication, The Good Food Guide is the UK’s longest running and bestselling restaurant guide. Priced £17.99, it is available from bookshops and Waitrose branches.
