A cheque for £1,500 has been handed to East Lancashire Hospice to help provide support and care for terminally ill patients.

Staff at Clitheroe’s Sainsbury store held a number of fund-raising events during the past 12 months, including bag packing and the annual Santa Dash.

The actual amount raised by the supermarket for the hospice, which was their chosen charity of the year 2012/2013 was £3,000.
