A CLITHEROE-BASED stained glass company is working on a new church window commemorating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Lightworks Stained Glass, a family-run firm in Lowergate, has had its designs accepted for the new window at St Mary’s Church, Thornton-in-Craven. It depicts St Oswald and a reference to the church’s own Holy Well, found in the churchyard. The inscription at the foot of the window reads: “In thankfulness for our Christian inheritance and in commemoration of the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II – 2012.”

Work on the new window was due to begin this week with an installation date set for mid-July. Anyone wanting more information on the wide range of work undertaken by Lightworks Stained Glass can contact the firm on 01200 429500.
