Whalley bridal boutique Lulu Brown’s has scooped a top industry award at the prestigious Bridal Buyer Awards 2013 in Harrogate.

One of seven finalists from over 1,000 entries in the closely-fought category of Best Bridal Retailer for the North, the Lulu Brown’s team was delighted to be announced as overall winner.

Managing director Helen Lord (27), who started the company eight years ago, commented: “It was a huge honour for us to even be shortlisted for this award as we were competing with some of the best retailers in the country, many of which were much larger businesses than ourselves. We literally could not believe it when our name was called out!”

Having relocated to their new Whalley premises from Clitheroe last March, the business prides itself on an individually tailored service for every customer, operating on an appointment basis to ensure every bride has time and peace and quiet to enjoy the experience at a time and day to suit them.

Entry to the awards involved close scrutiny of all aspects of the business, with the judging process including everything from mystery shopping to inspection of every day business practice.

Helen continued: “Jennie, Kate and Emily who work for me are fantastic and continually strive to ensure that every bride has the best experience possible. I’m so proud of what we have achieved together as a team and the award is confirmation the industry thinks we are doing a really good job too.”
