VILLAGERS enjoyed a free buffet when their local pub reopened after a month’s closure for refurbishment.

The Bayley Arms, Hurst Green, has been given a new look, while retaining its traditional village pub atmosphere, by new owners Nextep Inns.

Marketing manager Helen Knowles said: “We had a fantastic reopening. The place was packed with regulars and other visitors and we had lots of very positive comments about how we had refurbished the pub.

“The pub side and restaurant side used to be very much separate, but we have brought it all together. It now has the wow factor, but locals have appreciated how we didn’t gut the place and spoil its traditional features.”

The owners are inviting people to check out the new look and menu on their website www.bayleyarms.co.uk

The Nextep group also owns two other Ribble Valley pubs - the Feilden’s Arms at Mellor Brook and the Bay Horse at Osbaldeston - and the Red Lion at Wybunbury, Cheshire.
