Award winning Edisford Bridge pub

FRIENDLY staff and the exceptional quality of the food and drink has won a Ribble Valley pub a top accolade.

The Edisford Bridge Hotel was named as “Pub of theYear’’ by the Lancashire Dotcom Walkers.

Developed from.lancashirewalks.com the walking group has members from the Ribble Valley, Burnley, Blackburn, Preston and South Ribble.

Longtime member Brian Higginson said the award developed out of members’s wishes to recognise high standards of food, drink and hospitality.

He said: “Over a year we meet nearly every week for a walk which includes a pub lunch.

“That means we visit a lot of pubs all over the county.’’ John Griffiths, who is co-founder of the website added: “We visited the Edisford Bridge in February. As well as the high quality of its food and drink, the members most appreciated the friendliness of its staff.”

The Dotcom Walkers will return to the pub in Edisford Bridge on Tuesday, December 11th, to present the award.
