Chipping Show - PHOTO SPECIAL
CROWDS flocked to the 83rd annual Chipping Agricultural and Horticultural Show, held on the Showground.
Regarded as one of the best one-day rural shows in the North of England, it celebrates all aspects of farming and rural life.
Presidents Mr and Mrs John Muter and chairman Len Rogerson welcomed special guests Nigel Evans MP and Ribble Valley Mayor Coun. Lois Rimmer and her consort Mr Gordon Rimmer.
Attrcations included the popular shire horses and the hounds and whips from Holcombe Hunt, as well as sections for cattle, sheep, Shetland ponies, light horses, poultry, pigeons and eggs, cakes, biscuits, wine, preserves, flower arranging, handicrafts, children’s work, flowers and vegetables, cheese and vintage machinery.
There was be an open dog show, baby show and children’s races, as well as a falconry display, lawn mower racing, tug-of-war and egg catching competitions.
The trade stands offered a wide variety of local produce and featured cheese making and cookery demonstrations.
