Betty to support children with cancer

A school leaver from St Augustine’s will show her support for a family friend who had treatment for cancer, aged just 11, by shaving her head.

Betty Ward (15) of Grindleton will raise funds for The Little Princess Trust with a sponsored head shave which will take place on Saturday, July 4th at The Snip hairdressers in Clitheroe.

Betty commented: “After seeing our friend’s daughter go through treatment just as she was starting high school, and the impact of losing her hair, I decided that doing this would be a small thing that I could do which could really make a difference to other children going through the same thing.”

Betty will host a live music fundraiser at Grindleton Pavilion on Friday, July 10th, which will feature young acts from across the Ribble Valley. Tickets (including a pie and pea supper) are £10 for adults and £7.50 for under 16s and are available from Monday, June 15th, by calling 01200 440568.
