AN invitation was extended to residents of Hurst Green to "Come to Your Local" by mine hosts of the Bayley Arms in the village.

The event also included a charity raffle, with proceeds donated to Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

On the night locals were given a glass of mulled wine or bottle of beer and there was a buffet.

Prizes on offer in the raffle included a voucher for two people to dine at The Bayley Arms to the value of 50 and a free head and scalp massage.

Thanks are expressed to all the locals for supporting the event, which raised 280.

The cash was handed over to Anne Sweeney, community fund-raising co-ordinator for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation. She said: "The evening was a great success and a pleasure to fund-raise for such a good cause. The locals had an excellent evening and we even enjoyed some carol singing as well.
