Organisers of the annual Bands on the Square (BOTS) event are expected to meet today to discuss whether the three day event would continue with its final day after finishing early yesterday.

Local fans and bands took to the twitter last night to explain the situation. One tweeted: "Due to the medical emergency this evening, the BOTS committee in co-operation with the police have out of respect, taken the decision to cancel the rest of today's event.. Thank you to everyone for your understanding & respect in clearing the Square so quickly. Information on whether tomorrow's event will take place will be posted once a decision has been made."

Another fan tweeted: "Horrible news coming from Bands on the Square tonight."

The event in the Town Square is due to start today at 11.30am.
