Culinary Queen Emily Ashworth is in the final of a top competition to find the UK’s best blogger.

Emily is in line to be named as the UK Blogger of the Year at the final of the competition which will be held next month.

Her blogs about the divine dishes she whips up on a daily basis were entered for the awards which will recognise this talented young woman’s culinary and writing skills.

Emily (25) of Clitheroe, said: “This was something I really wanted so I was absolutely thrilled when I found out I was in the final and if I win that would be so fantastic.’’

Emily’s blog “My Grandma Taught Me How To Cook’’ was born when Emily moved from to Perth in Austrlia with her boyfriend, Richard Slinger.

She missed the taste of home cooking so much she asked her mum, Sandra, to send out her grandma’s cookbook so she could follow some of the recipes.

The handwritten book was duly despatched and Emily began perfecting a range of pies, pastries and cakes she had watched her grandmother, Margaret Kempson, make while growing up as a child in Low Moor.

Emily, who now lives back in her hometown, used her days spent cooking and eating with her grandmother as inspiration for her captivating blogs that have won her hundreds of followers.

She said: “It is great to think that people are reading my blog and also voting for me. My family have been so supportive and my grandma just loves the blog.’’
