18,500 visitors at Clitheroe Food Festival

Records were smashed as almost 18,500 people flooded into Clitheroe to celebrate the annual food festival.

The highly popular event took place on Saturday and allowed crowds of visitors - from far and wide - to sample delicious cuisine on display by almost 100 well-known Ribble Valley and Lancashire quality exhibitors.

As well as demonstrations by the region’s top chefs, visitors saw flavours go international with the addition of many new food vendors cooking on the town’s streets, all using proven Lancashire core ingredients to make tastebuds tinglers.

Other crowd-pleasers during the one-day extravaganza included a mini fun-fair, treasure hunts, shire horses, tea parties and cake decorating.
