Read couple Danielle Turner and Jason Fyles can finally put their feet up after a hectic couple of weeks fundraising – and look forward to their all-expenses-paid wedding.

Their incredible final total of £11,488.35 raised for Preston radio station Rock FM’s charity Cash for Kids, secured them the day of their dreams, with prizes worth in excess of £30,000.

The race to the final of “Bride Wars” saw a frantic week and a half of fundraising activities including supermarket collections and a raffles and auctions night at Whalley Golf Club.

Danielle explained: “Our brief was just to raise as much cash as possible for the charity in the 11 days we had allocated. We had no idea how the other couples were doing and so we just had to go all out to raise as much as we could. We had to call in help from all our family and friends, who were brilliant and got on with everything from organising events to just giving as much as they could as a donation.

“We were told on Sunday what our individual final totals were, but had to wait until Monday morning live on air for them to announce which couple had won.”

Danielle and Jason will now have a hectic couple of months of planning in the lead up to the wedding on June 21st at Eaves Hall, but with the help of a wedding planner as part of their prize, they are assured that everything will run smoothly on the big day. Everything will be provided, including wedding dress and suits, hen and stag parties, full hair and make up for the bridal party and food and drink for the guests at a wedding breakfast and evening reception.

Danielle described how she will never forget the moment they found out that they had won the wedding of their dreams: “When they read out our names, it was just complete and utter shock and disbelief that we had done it. Apart from the obvious joy for ourselves, we are unbelievably proud at the amount we managed to raise for Cash for Kids. We’d like to say a massive thank you to all our family and friends and also to the people who gave some amazing prizes for the raffle, including Vedas Services Ltd in Burnley, who gave us a holiday to Turkey as first prize and Mitton Hall, who donated an overnight stay with dinner.”

So now for the hard bit... What colour for the bridesmaids?
