MUSIC: ‘John Denver’ Christmas show comes to Slaidburn

Chris Bannister

BACK by popular demand, Chris Bannister returns to Slaidburn Village Hall on November 23rd with his “Music of John Denver Christmas Show”.

Chris previously played at the hall three years ago, when he began travelling the north of England performing his show “The Music Of John Denver”. He is not a “tribute act” in the sense he attempts to impersonate the late, great American country singer. He simply performs the songs in his own way, with none of the dressing up and so on often associated with the tribute genre.

Chris’s previous show at Slaidburn was such a successful and enjoyable night that he is really looking forward to returning. This October he was honoured to be asked to travel to Aspen, Colorado, to perform with Steve Weisberg, who was John Denver’s guitarist in the 1970s and who performed on hits like “Annies Song” and “Back Home Again”. The trip was an amazing success and next year Chris and Steve will be performing together in the USA, Ireland and mainland Europe.

The Slaidburn show on Friday November 23rd starts at 8 p.m. and tickets, priced £7.50, can be bought on the door or booked by phoning or texting 07973 802637.
