A new challenge... with strings attached

IF you’re looking for a fun new challenge to take you into 2013, how about the guitar?

A popular Guitar Improvers’ group course which runs in Salesbury Memorial Hall on Monday evenings has a small number of places available. Its tutor, Keith Morgan, will also look at starting a new group course for complete beginners if there is enough interest expressed.
The Improvers’ course is ideal for guitarists, perhaps self-taught, who know a few basic chords but find it difficult to change fluently between them, or for people who would like to learn a few more chords and extend their knowledge, skills and repertoire.

If you would like to move your guitar playing forward, improve your basic technique, learn some new songs or just want to play with other guitarists and have a bit of fun in the process, then this course is for you.

The group is run on a relaxed basis and is paced not too fast so that everyone can make progress and feel involved. The group is for people who wish to learn acoustic guitar through playing a wide range of musical styles.
Places on the Improvers’ course are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The next series of Monday night group sessions begins on January 7th and runs for 11 weeks with a half-term break to coincide with school holidays. New members can join the course at any stage and do not have to begin at week one. Prices are very competitive at just £5 per hour (£10 per session) and the classes run from 6-30 to 8-30 p.m. at Salesbury Memorial Hall.

Tutor Keith is also happy to start a new group course for complete beginners, if enough people express an interest. This course assumes no prior knowledge or experience of playing the guitar and starts from absolute basics, building up into developing skills to play a whole range of songs and melodies.

To find out more about either course, or to get involved in playing guitar, call Keith Morgan on 07989 209523 or e-mail him at: Keith.Guitar@btinternet.com
