A CLITHEROE couple completed a bewitching task to help break a world record!

Tony and Sue Gould, who own Party People in the town, provided the official witches costumes for people to dress up for the Pendleside Hospice Pendle Witch Walk earlier this year.

More than 1,000 people took part in the annual walk and 482 of them were dressed as witches which means that Pendleside Hospice and Pendle Council now hold the official Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of witches.

Christina Cope, fundraising manager for the hospice, said “ The costume criteria for the Guinness World Record for the most witches in one place was very strict and Tony did a lot of work to provide the costumes at a realistic price for our walkers to take part. We are very grateful for the support of Party People”.

And the money raised from the sale of the witches costumes, a grand total of £515, was donated to the hospice by Party People.
