Chatburn Christmas lights switch-on

Xmas

CHATBURN Youth Forum will light up the village for the second year running with a Christmas lights switch-on and much more this Saturday (December 1st).

Supported by local businesses and residents, the evening will include entertainment from talented local musicians, Chatburn School Choir and the ‘Make a Joyful Noise’ Choir.

Stalls in Bridge Street will offer mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pies and hot roasted chestnuts along with other traditional Christmas treats, and there will be a Christmas market offering a range of Christmas items and, of course, a visit from Father Christmas. The event will also feature a new sparkling addition unveiled on the tree.

Last year the event raised more than £250 for North West Air Ambulance, and members of the Youth Forum, all aged between 14 and 18, are hoping to top that this year.

Events start at 5-30 p.m. with the official lights switch-on performed by a surprise celebrity guest at 6 p.m. Entertainment and the market will continue until 7-30 p.m.
