A PRESTIGIOUS Ribble Valley spa has opened its own training academy.

Deep Training Academy in Whalley was officially opened in a red carpet ceremony last weekend and the purpose built centre of excellence adjoins the existing beauty spa that was established 2007.

The opening comes hot on the heels of the salon being named as a finalist in the Enterprise and Vision Awards for Beauty Salon of the Year.

Guests, who included existing and potential clients and local residents were welcomed to the open day by Managing Director Karin Hilton. Staff were on hand to showcase the extensive range of courses that have been specifically designed to meet the needs of both the beauty practitioner and those aspiring to a position within the beauty industry. Those in attendance were treated to a make-over and the opportunity to witness first hand the virtues of a colonic!

As an extensively qualified beautician with over 20 years experience as a practitioner and salon owner, the training academy represents Karin’s latest business venture.

She told Business Matters: “Apart from training those who already work within the industry, my aim is to also attract those with no experience or formal accreditation who aspire to a career as a beauty therapist, either working in a salon or as a mobile technician. “The opportunities that exist for those who are qualified are many and varied and I fully expect the academy to go from strength to strength. Our professionally accredited courses are delivered by highly trained, experienced and motivated lecturers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.”

“WITH small class sizes, day and evening training sessions and a facility for one-to-one tuition if so required, we aim to accommodate the needs of all students and provide a first rate service.’’
