Free meals at Rimington pub

DINERS at the Black Bull, Rimington, were amazed and delighted one recent Thursday evening when, instead of being presented with the bill for their dinner, they were given a letter by the owners telling them they had been given their meal for free!

This surprise is a new initiative launched by owners Steve Hodgson and Katherine Lachance. Once a month, on a Tuesday or Thursday evening, Steve and Katherine will secretly choose to nominate the evening as literally a "free for all". Then, instead of any of the diners receiving the bill, they will instead receive the letter as a "thank you", stating they will be expected to pay precisely nothing.

"We consider all our customers as guests," explained Katherine. "So although we need to run our business at a profit, we would like to thank our guests when we can, and came up with this idea which has really caused a stir!"

The Black Bull, which was renovated and reopened by Steve and Katherine last year, has once again become the centre of the local community and is also gaining a reputation throughout the region for offering top quality French cuisine at sensible prices.

To make a booking or for more information, phone Katherine on 01200 415960 or visit: www.theblackbullrimington.com
