BEGINNING on Sunday, April 15th, Clitheroe Bike Club is offering a six-week cycle course for primary school children in Years 1 to 6.

The focus will be on teaching control, safety and, most importantly, fun. The club’s fully qualified coaching team are all experienced cyclists and parents themselves and will look after the children in a traffic-free environment.

A spokesman for the family-oriented club said: “We want all the children who attend to gain confidence on their bikes so this summer they can really benefit from the enjoyment that cycling brings. Who knows... we might find a budding Cavendish or Wiggins!”

The scheme has the full backing of the club’s chairman Richard Paige who feels it will help to get the club working in the community and, if successful, could become a regular event.

The course will run on six consecutive Sundays from April 15th between 2-30 and 3-30 p.m. at Edisford School and will cost £20. Spaces are limited so book early by e-mailing Richard Paige (paigelegg@aol.com) or phoning 07976 312529.
