FOOTBALL fans turned out in their hundreds to see Burnley goalkeeper Brian Jensen at the Bookshop in Colne.

The Denmark-born player was signing copies of his new book “Beast: From Norrebro to the Premier League”.

The book was written by two Danish authors, Hans-Gerd Krabbe and Dan Hirsch Sorensen and charts Jensen’s rise from obscurity to the top.

Bookshop owner Joanne Watson said: “There were big crowds outside the shop by the time Brian arrived and I think he was a little daunted by it all at first.

“He was wonderful and signed lots of copies of the book as well as football shirts that people had brought along and posed for photographs.”

Copies of the book are on sale at the shop in Church Street for £10.99.

The Bookshop in Church Street is planning lots more events for the coming months.

In June the shop will host an evening with crime writer and poet Sophie Hannah.
