your town
My name is David Price, I am 23 years old and born and raised in Billington. I am just contacting you to see if you would be interested in my last five years. I went Ribblesdale High and graduated in '01.

Then after graduating Citheroe Grammer Sixth Form I headed out to Milwaukee, USA on a soccer scholarship.

I spent four-and-a-half years there with a couple of other people from Lancashire including Clitheroe an Burnley.

We then recruited a number of others and we have a few more coming this year.

I had a great time out there and still have my long term girlfriend there.

I plan on heading back there soon.

After being back in Whalley for Christmas I moved to South Korea to teach English part-time and play football part-time. The culture out here is worlds apart from home. It is interesting being so close to China, North Korea and South East Asia. In a month I am visiting Laos, Vietnam and Thailand.

I am really excited to check those places out and experience their cultures.

My Korean has developed a lot since living here.

It's a basic language, but difficult to learn.

I am planning on heading home after the States, just for Christmas.

Maybe do some work at the Delacey then head on to do some backpacking before I start the whole "career" gig.
Welcome to your town!

Clitheroe has a long and important history.

Evidence is seen today in many of the buildings which still dominate areas of the town.

Crowned by its Castle Keep, the town is thought to be a "Norman new town creation" and the earliest charter granted to the burgesses of Clitheroe is that said to have been made by the first Henry de Lacy, some time between 1147 and 1177.

Here we aim to record some of the photographs, old and new, which show how Clitheroe has changed and developed over the centuries.

If you have photographs you wish to add to this collection, please send them via sally.dahmke@eastlancsnews.co.uk

Our thanks to Clitheroe Library for the loan of some of the images shown on this site.
To send in your photos, music or video clips to display on www.clitheroeadvertiser.co.uk is simple.

Email sally.dahmke@eastlancsnews.co.uk with a little information
to go with your contribution and we'll do the rest!

It's that easy!
