| Having lived in Clitheroe for many years before moving to New Zealand three years ago, we always read the Clitheroe Advertiser with interest. The photos of the snow brought back memories of the long cold winter days in the Ribble Valley.Looking out of our window today at the glorious sunshine, made us realise how different Christmas time is in New Zealand. Formed in 1939, Ribblesdale Camera Club is one of the oldest and friendliest societies in Ribble Valley. On average there are around 30 to 40 members, both men and women, of all ages and from all walks of life. Not everybody has fancy and expensive equipment - good photographs can be taken with any camera and some members do not even have their own camera. Appreciation of photography is the only prerequisite to enjoying the club's varied activities. It meets on Tuesday evenings from 7-30 p.m. at West Bradford Village Hall, with practical trips out and other activities arranged in the summer months. The club welcomes new members at all levels of experience and ability, with ample help at hand for those looking to improve their photographic skills. For more information about the club, call John Bradley on 01254 822921. |
