LETTER: Rosegrove Football Club says thanks

Rosegrove Football Club has received some wonderful support from our local councillor Jeff Sumner.

Before Christmas we were struggling to find somewhere to train indoors as all the venues had been booked up months ago, the children were getting very cold and disheartened playing outdoors.

Coun. Jeff Sumner helped by finding us Hameldon Community College to train indoors on a Monday evening and, excited by our passion in bringing the children from the community together to have fun and learn football, he then donated money towards equipment for our next season and helped to fund the cost of our indoor training, allowing us to charge only a nominal amount resulting in more children being able to participate.

As we are a non-profit club every penny in support we receive goes straight back to the children and it is encouraging to see that some local councillors do care about supporting organisations such as Rosegrove FC and understand the pleasure and wonderful sense of achievement that clubs such as ours offer to children and the community.
