LETTER: Pressure put on RBS has paid off

SO the pressure put on the boss of RBS has paid off.

His extra £1m bonus is not being taken - this time.

When thousands of people are being laid off, asked to take a pay freeze or are in fear of redundancy, it is the injustice of these massive bonuses that makes ordinary people so angry.

We have to find a more equitable way to run our society other than this more and more divisive inequality.

The Government has to act in a much more decisive way on our behalf otherwise people will become even more disaffected.

Keep up the pressure to achieve a more just society.

I have sent a letter to the Editor in respone to Sue's letter that I hope will be published. If my response is not published then I will post my comment directly here unless the Colne Times adopts the same policy as the Lancashire Telegraph and declares me 'persona non grata'. The current position is that I am not allowed to comment on stories in the Lancashire Telegraph.
