LETTER: Get Burnley Bus Station signs working again

IT is good to see Burnley Bus Station has been awarded yet another award, this time for safety, and well done to Burnley Council and all the other people involved. We have a really well designed and functional bus station with one recent exception.

The bus station is badly wanting in the lack of departure information from the departure information boards, thanks it would appear to Lancashire County Council which is responsible for the boards and their subsequent turning off. This is basic information that is fundamental to the operation of the bus station and needs re-instating without delay.

It seems Burnley Council owns and operates the bus station, but apparently not the departure boards, which is rather odd. I would call on Burnley Council to get these departure boards operational again without being dictated to by LCC. How has this strange arrangement happened? We need to be in charge of our own destiny.

Let’s, for goodness sake, get the boards working again Burnley. As we look to get our town through these difficult times surely we need this sort of thing to provide a basic information service key to the bus station’s purpose for our visitors and local people alike.
