LETTER: Deathtrap pavements and roads caused by not gritting

COULD someone explain why the pavements and roads around Turf Moor were not gritted last Saturday?

The forecast was snow around mid-afternoon and yet after Burnley’s game against Peterborough ended the road and pavements had not been treated.

It was a total deathtrap with cars skidding and pedestrians walking with extreme caution due to the conditions.

It took two and a half hours to do a two-mile journey after the game with other motorists just stranded due to the state of the roads.

There was ample warning before the snow came and in my opinion Burnley Borough Council failed miserably regarding being ready for any snow.

Will fall on deaf ears Mr Hibbett, following similar letters from January the council thinks they are doing a sterling job of gritting Burnley. I think they should let us be the judge of that!
