Responsibility for neighbourhood policing for Longridge, Chipping, Ribchester and surrounding areas will be taken over by Sergeant Dave Simpson.

Sgt Simpson will be based at both Clitheroe and Longridge police stations and has worked for Lancashire Constabulary for over 21 years, having previously spent seven years in the Royal Military Police.

With the majority of his service served in the Eastern Division, including Blackburn, Great Harwood and Clitheroe, he has worked predominantly as a frontline officer in uniformed response, neighbourhood policing and on the operational support unit, initially as a constable before being promoted to sergeant eight years ago.

Sgt Simpson commented: “I have worked in East Lancashire for most of my career, with a short spell at Morecambe and the past year working from the Ribble Valley. I am very pleased to be joining the Neighbourhood Policing team at Longridge and am looking forward to supporting the work being done by the great team there.”
