RAMPANT Rimington enjoyed one of the most one-sided semi-finals in Craven Cup history to convincingly march into the final.
The writing was on the wall early on as the locals almost scored in the first minute when Paton dragged his effort wide, but he made amends soon after as Penman and O'Neill combined to set him up to stroke home.

Penman again had the ball in the back of the net, but it was ruled out for off-side, before he threaded a delightful pass to Paton for his strike partner to finish just before half-time.

In the second half, Rimington were much better, even if not at their best, and the game was over as a contest when Penman hammered home from close range, before Alan Sayle made it four soon after.

Manager Terry Braithwaite seized the opportunity to rest Penman, Sayle and Mankowski, as Lawson, Curtis and Hartlebury came on.

Paton had several chances to claim his hat-trick, but he was denied by the keeper and profligate finishing, leaving Dinsdale to make it 5-0.

Then a real collector's item saw Curtis cut out a pass and race through before slotting the ball home, much to the delight of everyone.

Terry Braithwaite was satisfied with his team's work, but insists the final will be a different affair as they take on Ingleton tomorrow at Barnoldswick (kick-off 6-30 p.m.), asking supporters to turn up in force and back his side against a strong, physical team that knocked out Barnoldswick on penalties.
