Riley makes his Mark!

MARK Riley was named Clitheroe and District Pool League's leading merit winner at Thursday's presentation evening at the Kings Arms.
The Buck A player won 23 out of 32 games in the Premier Division to push Billington B's Chris Stanley into second, with 21 from 28.

The most wins across all divisions came from Low Moor's Marc Holmes, as he recorded 27 wins out of 32, beating team-mate Tyrone Henshaw with 23 from 32.

Mick Hargreaves led the way in the Second Division, as the Royal Oak A player won 25 of 32 games to edge Royal Oak A's Lindsay Lloyd into second with 24 wins from 28.

Third Division efforts saw Dog Music Bar's Stefan Martin chalk up 24 wins out of 32 to beat Rose and Crown A's Roger Hope with 23 from 29.

And Buck Wrinkley's Duncan Niven won 23 of 32 in the Fourth Division to see Higher Buck B's Craig Nicholls into second place, with 21 wins from 32.

The most successful doubles partnership saw 12 wins from 14 for Station B's Ian Harle and Adrian Dugdale.

The pair out-shone joint second place pairings Daniel Ridgeway and Simon Ryan of Kings Arms B, and Vinny Gilmore and Stefan Martin of Dog Music Bar.

However, Lindsay Lloyd was top lady in both the men's and ladies' leagues as she recorded 24 wins in the men's, and 29 victories in the ladies.

Brown Cow's Beryl Cottam was next best in the men's league with nine wins, with Station's Catherine Hickling taking second spot in the ladies' with 28.
