A group of caring women, who between them have an amazing 413 years of volunteering experience, have been rewarded for their efforts.
Eighteen members of the Ribble Valley WRVS were presented with long service medals for making a difference in their community.
WRVS provides services to help people in need who might otherwise feel lonely and isolated and help them live independently, with dignity.
Some of the services provided include meals on wheels, books on wheels, lunch clubs and Clitheroe Hospital's shopping trolley service.
Among the volunteers rewarded are those who have been giving up their time and providing much-needed support and services to the elderly and disabled people for 35 years.
The awards ceremony was held at The Post House Hotel, in King Street, Clitheroe, and project manager Mrs Judith Hitchen said: "Our volunteers are fantastic and have always worked together to support people in need.
"We have recently introduced a new service – an assisted shopping service where volunteers help elderly and disabled people with their shopping."
She added: "We are always in need of more volunteers so if you are interested in helping a few hours a week, please call 01200 442513."
