HORSE owners have been given advice on safety and security issues as part of a crime prevention drive in the Ribble Valley.
PCSOs Di Bioletti and Jane Pearson have produced a series of information sheets, which give horse owners advice on stable, horse, tack, trailer and wagon security as well as road safety.

This comes as part of Ribble Horse watch, which aims to raise awareness about security and general safety issues.

PCSO Pearson said: "We often see an increase in the number of crimes involving horses over the showing season and are keen to stop this from happening.

"We are working with the local vets and the British Horse Society, with a view to ensuring that all horses are micro-chipped.

" We have been visiting livery yards and giving out information packs to raise awareness and deter would-be thieves."

Anyone wanting further information can contact PCSO Pearson (pictured right) or PCSO Bioletti (pictured left) on 01200 458772.
